I read a 2008 article that quoted Cynthia Moss regarding a herd of elephants that carried the bones of a dead calf to a specific place and then kept vigil and covered them with branches. I wanted to know what type of branches they used. Were they from a specific tree or shrub? Did they have a specific smell to them? All the articles I can find that mention elephant burials stop short of the interesting details. Could you fill them in please?
