Tiger: Hurtling towards extinction in India![]() Here's a recent article from the Times of India which finally has shed all its political hesitation and correctly (politically incorrectly) states the TRUTH of the peril to India's national wildlife symbol.. It is so saddening to read this, but something the world should note: Most of India's Tiger reserves are getting devoid of tigers, thanks to the voracious appetites of neighboring affluent China for tiger bones and of course the many corrupt Indian politicians and the all-powerful and dreaded Indian wildlife mafia that show no remorse in milking this hellish-demand to the max.... sad isn't it??? It's a matter of great shame.. It is quite possible that in another decade, the tiger could almost come to the brink of extinction in India (which it is already in my opinion) and be reduced to a pittance of a few individuals scattered here and there...with absolutely no viable genetic pool remaining.. Another key implication of all of this is that: TIGER HABITAT PRESERVATION IS VITAL TO THE SURVIVAL OF THE INDIAN ASIAN ELEPHANT.. IF THE APEX PREDATOR OF THE INDIAN JUNGLE GOES SO ALSO WILL THE ASIAN ELEPHANT FROM INDIA..... Ps C http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/news/sunday-toi/special-report/This-m... Sivaram |
