Betsy holds a PhD in Sociology and two master’s degrees in the social sciences. She has worked extensively on campaigns concerning African elephants and captive elephants, as well as in the areas of animal ethics and in non-profit program and development. She has published articles in journals such as Journal of Social Service Research, Journal of Qualitative Research, and the Encyclopedia of Social and Behavioral Sciences. Currently, Betsy manages ATE’s planned giving activities, as well as our Endowment fund. She travels and speaks widely about ATE’s missions and goals. She is also an adjunct lecturer for University of Southern California, where she teaches Global Social Policy.
