OUR TEAM

MOSES SARUNI
Research Assistant

Moses comes from the Maasai Community surrounding the Park, born in Esiteti, just outside Amboseli National Park. Moses’s father worked for ATE as a Community Scout in 1997 which inspired Moses to take an interest in elephants from a young age. In his teens he was one of our beneficiaries for a High School Scholarship, after which ATE continued to support him through a diploma at KWSTI in Naivasha. Moses’s obvious passion for elephants and environmental education is what made us offer him a job once he completed his studies. We had been looking for a young passionate Maasai from Amboseli for some time so that we can pass down the legacy of our knowledge on elephants to the next generation of Kenyans. Moses is currently training to be a Research Assistant, as well as a custodian for educating people on the importance of conserving elephants both locally and internationally. He has a bright future ahead of him, and we are proud to be a part of what helps him develop into a young capable Conservationist.
